When warm temperatures start to give way
to colder weather, it’s time to start thinking about winterizing your
home. There are some simple, sensible steps you can take to make sure
everything at your place is ready for the longer winter ahead.
Move Summer and Fall Clothes to the Back
Once temperatures drop near or below
freezing and the snow starts falling, it’s unlikely you’re going to don
your cargo shorts and flip-flops for a while. It’s time to change up
your wardrobe and pack away warm-weather clothing and move winter
clothing to the forefront.
Send Summer Toys to the Basement
In the winter, there’s no reason to keep
your beachwear handy (unless you plan on a upcoming trip to Hawaii).
Plan on relocating these things to your cellar or other storage area in
your home. Camping gear and other items you won’t be using will be
better suited out of the way.
Bring out the Coats
In the spring and fall, your hallway
coat closets are probably filled with jackets. When winter makes its
appearance, it’s time to change these out for coats, gloves, scarves,
hats and boots. Take your other seasonal gear elsewhere for the time
being.
